Gender roles … waddya think?

September 1st, 2009

My wife asked me last night what my view was on women teachers… “ummm… uhh… well… uhh…,” I stammered. Well? What did I think of women teachers?

Rick white over at City View in Forth Worth has written an excellent overview of my complementarian position. I’m glad he understood what I wanted to say!

For me it comes down to, I’m all about some women being teachers, preachers, and prophetesses… there are so many brilliant women and I feel that this works in light of scripture and my present understanding of the theology of it. It makes sense that there not be executive position associated with that, but to stifle women such that they shouldn’t be allowed or even expected to share their insight and understanding with others is simply dumb.
